This site has it for sale as public domain:

http://filmchest.com/catalog_20081008.php?sort=TITLE&;txtsearchfor=Horror&selin=GENRE&up=true

However, it says "U.S. only". Can the web archive safely host this film?

The film was released without a copyright notice. It is an Anglo-Spanish production, Country of first publication - United Kingdom. It has never been registered for GATT/URAA restoration, possibly because it is not eligable for restoration as it was published in the US within 30 days of its publication in its country of origin. I have sources that conflict on the dates but they are all within the 30 days. UK publication was either on 8 or 10 December 1973. All my sources say that US publication was 2 January 1974.
So this item is still public domain in the US so it is perfectly legal for IA to host it.
Also, it seems safe to assume that the copyright to this film has been abandoned. It seems to be distributed freely accross UK, Europe and Australia as a PD item without any hassles from a copyright holder. My master copy has gone out on a number of different packages, labels and formats in Australia over the last decade and no one has reported any legal hassles with it.

Thanks a lot. I asked this because someone who recently reviewed the movie on this site asserted that it was under copyright.
